While living together off East 73rd Street in Kansas City, (hence E73), Peter Whitney and Ethan Ravencamp joined forces with the goal of acquiring real estate. The asset class of self-storage was selected due to the opportunity to add value by immediately driving revenue & enhancing operations via technology and marketing. Self-storage is extremely ‘high-touch’, due to every customer having unique needs, while renting on a month-to-month basis. Self-storage operates as a small business, but is financed as commercial real estate; which creates tremendous opportunities for value creation.
Since E73’s inception in December 2021, the partners have acquired & operated eight self-storage facilities totaling over 1,000 units and over 150,000 square feet without using external capital. With a proven capability of sourcing and operating in the space, the partners have built an ample pipeline and envision an exceptional opportunity to aggregate a portfolio of self-storage assets throughout the Midwest.
Silverback Storage is a wholly owned and operated management company under the E73 umbrella of companies. E73 operates all of its storage assets under the brand of Silverback Storage. By building out a brand in the markets that we operate, we not only can build credibility with customers and contractors, but we can also negotiate favorable marketing, software and management packages that are necessary for operating self storage facilities.
